Mission

W.E.L.L., Inc. (Women Empowering Loving Lives) mission is to provide unique partnerships with the community and large organizations to empower and provide growth to those individuals who are struggling in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. We aim to create programs that focus on those who find themselves vulnerable and in need of means to rise above their unfortunate circumstances. Our mission is to reach individuals that are in need of assistance may it be tangible items and or emotional support due to homelessness and/or domestic violence.

As part of our vision, W.E.L.L., Inc. has developed community based projects to address the needs of others.  Love4All  outreach program was designed specifically to provide essential necessities for our local homeless.

W.E.L.L., Inc. is continuously seeking to be an oasis of resources and support to local homeless who are living in a dry barren land surrounded by a thriving, rich in nutrient land within the Washington Metropolitan Area. Metaphorically as we are the “WELL” for our community we will Awaken, Restore and Empower Life.

Goals

W.E.L.L. strives to actively be at the forefront of creating social-consciousness and culturally changing undue bias toward the disadvantaged in the Washington, D.C. area. Our goal is to embrace those that are often forgotten and ill-treated, but we cannot achieve our goals alone. Find out how you can help.

01.

AWAKEN.

All too often the world is viewed through rose colored glasses.  W.E.L.L. desires to awaken the general public to the needs and existence of those struggling within our communities.  Everyone giving a little of themselves can change any given circumstance.  Those in need are often overlooked and erased from our eyesight.  Let us open our eyes, our heart and the worlds eyes to acknowledge the persistent needs of our all encompassing community.  Let us bring action in the lending of a helping hand to those who lay dormant before the world, crying out, hungry for food and communal relations.  Stretch forth your financial assistance, your heart and hugs, your time to help one who has fallen on hard times. Together we can touch many lives.

02.

RESTORE.

As we now see the needs of others let us help to restore what was lost or missing.  We strive to inspire and help those who have lost their footing in society.  Life can and will deliver some harsh realities.  Often the place between a rock and a hard place is only a breath away.  We all need help to restore what life has stolen.  Providing what seems basic to one in need can be a life altering experience.  Something so basic as a random act of kindness can not only restore ones faith in humanity, be the sustenance of ones life and also give hope for a better tomorrow.

03.

EMPOWER LIFE.
As we draw attention to the needs of others, we actively restore a portion of what has been depleted or stolen. Now that basic needs have been addressed we strive to empower a sense of value that all men and women have a purpose. We remind our brothers and sisters that we love everybody. We all have a purpose. Your current situation is not your final destination. W.E.L.L. continues to birth projects to reintegrate those in need to purposeful status within society. It takes a village to lift up those in need. Working together with the community and our partners we are changing lives.

History

Founded in 2013, W.E.L.L. has been at the forefront of creating social-consciousness and culturally changing undue bias towards the disadvantage in the Washington, D.C. area.

The heart of W.E.L.L.'s community involvement began with the CEO, Jacqueline Mapp, the mother of the mother-daughter Love4All duo team that sprinkles holiday joy annually on Christmas Eve. Jacqueline in 2005 began the Christmas Eve drive, Love4All, with the first ten gift bags, which later in 2007 became 15 wrapped shoe-boxes in the fashion of a "Christmas Gift." Love4All's co-founder Lauren Mosley joined her mother's humanitarian efforts in 2007 while creating what is known today as the "The Wish List." "The Wish List" is the list of items that fill the inside of the shoeboxes. Items range from thermal socks to a miniature jar of peanut butter.

Love4All has a unique delivery system that was fully developed in 2009. We pride our program on personalizing our deliveries to those sleeping on benches, grates, and sidewalks adjacent to some of the most prominent government buildings. In addition to delivering presents, we incorporated feeding the homeless hot cheese and meat lovers pizza.

Today Love4All supports our community by reaching over 2,000 people as of 2017. We have warmed the hearts of those that are forever surprised, shocked and thankful for the slightest token of love on some of the coldest days of the year. We have grown to over 80 volunteers that share our same joy in delivering Christmas presents.
